| Bio-Technology Dept JU bags first prize | | Prize distribution function held Display Your Talent | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 28: In an impressive function, Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu on Thursday, the final day of the first phase of the ‘Display Your Talent 2010-11’ conducted quiz competition and prize distribution function that includes Fine Arts and Literary Events, here at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium.
The School of Bio-Technology, University of Jammu clinched the first prize while Department of Computer Science & IT, University of Jammu and GGM Science College (Morning) bagged the Second and Third Team Trophy, respectively.
Dr. Anil Gupta from from The Business School, University of Jammu, conducted the Quiz Competition.
Prof. R.D. Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu, was the Chief Guest at the Prize Distribution Function of the 1st Phase of “Display Your Talent” 2010-11. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Sharma, said that the Display Your Talent today completed its 29th years of celebration with its full blossom.
In his address Prof. R. D. Sharma also complimented the prize winners and eulogized the efforts of the Department of Students Welfare for providing suitable platform to the students to exhibit their talent.
The proceedings were conducted by Madhvi Sharma, Cultural Secretary, Department of English.
The vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Department of Environmental Science, University of Jammu.
Prof. Jasbir Singh, Co-Chairman, Campus Cultural Committee, delivered the welcome address and gave a brief resume of the various students welfare activities conducted during the 1st phase of “Display Your Talent” 2010-11 by the Department of Students Welfare.
Among others Prof. N.K. Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Varsha Mehta, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Prof. M.K. Dhar, Head, Department of Bio-Technology, Vijay Atri, Assistant Dean (Cultural Affairs), Vinay Thusoo, Public Relations Officer, Members of the Campus Cultural Committee, Gagandeep Sharma, Secretary, Students Cultural Council, Shifali Gupta, Joint Secretary, Students Cultural Council and Students Cultural Council, Heads of the Teaching Departments, Principals and Teacher Incharges of the Affiliated Colleges, Faculty Members, Officers, Staff, Research Scholars and the Students of the University as well as Colleges, were also present.
