Workshop on ‘Effective Research: Theory and Practice’ concludes | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 28: A two-day state level workshop on “Effective Research: Theory and Practice” concluded at Government Degree College (Boys), Udhampur. On the valedictory function, Dr Meenakshi Kilam, Director, Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu, was the chief guest. In her address, she congratulated the College and said that the College has a great potential to grow further. She expressed hope that with the kind of initiatives taken up by the College during Golden Jubilee year, this institution shall certainly enrich its academic milieu. She emphasized that the healthy practices of the College shall be maintained and enhanced. Earlier, Principal Dr Nutan Kumar Resutra extended a note of welcome to the chief guest. Prof. Sudhir Singh, Convener Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) presented a report of the event whereas participants observation was made by Dr.Khursheed A. Qazi and Dr Geetanjali Rajput., Dr Reeta Saldanha, the resource person of the workshop also shared her experiences of the workshop. The five technical sessions of the workshop, spread over two days, exclusively focused on various literary approaches and theories that need to be thoroughly understood to analyze a literary work. The College and University teachers should read world literature in English in order to have a full and better understanding of their native literature was the message of the workshop. The workshop was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell(IQAC) of the College in association with Jammu Unit of English Language Teachers Association of India. 50 teachers and students from various parts of the state attended this workshop.
