| Mankotia take stock of works at sports stadium | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur Oct 29: To take stock of developmental works being carried out at Subash Sports Stadium, Udhampur MLA, Balwant Singh Mankotia visited the Sports Stadium here today.
Executive Engineer PWD, Assistant Director, Youth Services and Sports and Revenue officers accompanied the MLA.
MLA instructed the officers of executive agency to complete the already identified works with in a stipulated time frame so that the modern facilities being created in the stadium on modern line to help the sports persons of the town to enable them to compete at national and international level sports event.
He also instructed the concerned officers to put in their best efforts in accomplish the alternative road link to the stadium as early as possible for the benefit of sports lovers.
He said that out of the earmarked amount of Rs.1.26 crores, Rs.54 lakhs have been released to the executing agency for creating modern facilities for the sports like swimming pool, shooting range, Volley ball, hostel etc.
Mankotia further said that services of army will also be utilized under Sadhbhavna programme for the development of Subash Stadium, in this regards Army authorities has agreed in principle for the release of funds for the same.
He further said that a tentative project of Rs 15 crore has been formulated to develop it on international level.
