BJYM activists to hoist tricolour at Lal Chowk | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT NAGPUR, Oct 29: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) has announced to hoist national flag at historical Lal Chowk at Srinagar to demonstrate its solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and their commitment to fight the separatists’ movement. Addressing a rally of BJYM activists here last evening, the BJYM National President Anurag Thakur, and party MP Navjot Singh Siddhu announced to carry out the flag hoisting at Lal Chowk and dared J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to prevent them from doing it. Launching a scathing attack simultaneously on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, Thakur said that the Prime Minister was maintaining a stony silence on the Kashmir issue and even on unpatriotic remarks made by Syed Ali Shah Geelani and noted writer Arundhati Roy. They accused Singh, Abdullah of "buckling under the pressure of separatists." "Where was Congress Yuvraj (Rahul) when educational institutions were closed for almost five months due to law and order situation there? He had no time to talk to Kashmiri youth and understand their plight," Thakur said. Opposing any dilution to the special powers given to the armed forces, Thakur, a second time MP from Hamirpur (HP) said, "Only two districts in Valley were affected but an impression was given that entire Kashmir was burning." Siddhu criticized Rahul for his remarks comparing SIMI with RSS on the alleged terror issue.
