| Ladakhi students demand CU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 29: Ladakhi students All Ladakh Students Joint Action Committee today organised a protest demonstration in favour of their demands.
Hundreds of Ladakhi students, who had gathered at Ladakh Sarai, shouted slogans against the state government for the alleged neglect of education sector in Ladakh region by central as well as state governments
They demanded establishment of Central University (CU) in Ladakh, rail link to Ladakh, inclusion of Ladakhi Language in 8th schedule, opening of Chadhar Road, Zojila tunnel.
The protesters alleged that with the lack of enough educational infrastructure in Ladakh, youth are compelled to become educational refugees.
Future of Ladakh are losing its unique identity in 'the name of imbibing education out side Ladakh, in that way they are socialized in the outside society which makes them merely a marginalized man to their own native society, said a protesting student
The students said that during their recent visit interlocutors also neglected the Ladakh region.
They should have gone to Ladakh to know the genuine problems of this frontier region.
The Ladakhi students later took out a peaceful protest march from Ladakh Sarai to Bikram Chowk.
