SC/ST retired employees highlight demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 30: All J&K SC & ST Retired Employees Forum today demanded waving off the Merit-cum-Attendance requirement for scholarship to the Matric and 10+2 students of the under privileged categories, in its Annual General Body meeting and foundation day celebrations held here today. On this occasion, M L C and former minister B R Kundal was the chief guest. Senior vice president of the forum, Dr O P Bhagat presented the welcome address and general secretary of the forum Mohan Lal Hans presented the “annual general report” of the activities/achievement of the forum for the year 2009-2010. The president of the forum, Seva Dass Digra highlighted the various needs and redressal measures required by the state government for the upliftment/welfare of the SC/ST communities. These include waving off the Merit-cum-Attendance requirement for scholarship to the Matric and 10+2 students, maintenance of proper roaster in promotion/recruitment in various departments, formulation of proper Rule of 8 percent and 11 percent reservation to SC and ST respectively in promotion to state government employees, due reservation of 8 percent and 11 percent for SC and ST respectively while regularizing RET,REZ ,RES, ISM and Anganwadi workers, induction of at least one more Minister from each SC and ST communities in the state cabinet, timely promotion and confirmation of the employees in respective posts. Secretary of the forum Lal Chand Bhagat presented the vote of thanks.
