Sham, Bhalla inaugurates CT scan, SNCU facilities at GNH | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 30: Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma accompanied by Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla and Political Advisor to Chief Minister, Davinder Rana today inaugurated CT Scan facility and Sick New Born Care Unit (SNCU) at Government Hospital Gandhinagar. The facilities have come up at the cost of Rs 2 crore and Rs 55 lakh respectively. Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Ashok Sharma, Mission Director NRHM, Ex-Director Krishan Lal Gupta, Dr Amrik Singh, Medical Superintendents, Chief Medical Officers, prominent citizens and senior officers of Health and Medical Education Department attended the function. Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma said that the upgradation of Government Hospital Gandhinagar has been on his top priority. He said that after addition of the OPD block, the work load in the institution improved tremendously. He said that this institution was almost defunct about two years back, but now it has become overloaded with the patients. He said that doctors and paramedics are working whole heartedly in the interest of patient care. Sharma said that with the addition of CT Scan and SNCU facilities in the institution, the referral to Government Medical College will further reduce and it will improve the patient care in the hospital. In his address, Bhalla appreciated the efforts of Health Department and informed that in short span of time, not only CT Scan and SNCU have been added to the hospital but most of the sections has been renovated and upgraded, the most important being Blood Bank, Administrative Block, Emergency ward, outsourcing of the parking, construction of bore well to solve the water crises etc.
