| Slathia lays foundation stone of causeways at Rhaya , Gurah Salathian | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SAMBA, Oct 30: Minister for Industries and Commerce Surjit Singh Slathia, today laid foundation stones of causeways on Rhaya Bhadwal Road and link road to Garh Mandi at Gurah Salathian.
The130 meter causeway at Raya- Bhadwal road will be constructed over a local Nallah by Public Works(R&B) Department under state plan at a cost of Rs 25 lakh thereby connecting villages of Badhori, Suchani, Raya and Rajinderpora to National Highway via Sungwal and Vijaypur.
With construction of this cause way a long pending demand to provide an all weather link to these villages will be fulfilled. This road runs parallel to the National Highway and provides a good alternative to the local population of these villages to avoid traffic at National Highway.
Foundation stone of another 100 meter causeway on a nallah was laid by minister at a link road from Gurah Salathian Chowk to Garh Mandi. This structure is estimated to cost Rs.20 lakh. The causeway shall provide un interrupted connectivity to both sides during rains and floods. Students of Higher Secondary School of Gurah Slathian and players using Spots stadium shall be highly benefited with the construction of this causeway.
On the occasion, Surjeet Singh Slathia congratulated the people of the area on fulfillment of their long pending demands. He directed the concerned department to immediately take up the construction of compound wall and examination hall at the higher secondary school (Rhaya). He also directed the concerned department to install a high mast light at the play Ground, Rhaya.
