| “Interlocutors’ credibility doubtful” | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur Oct, 31: Criticizing center for appointment of Interlocutors to solve Kashmir, Udhampur social workers charged centre for making Kashmir vexed problem for itself .
They alleged that instrument of accession is permanent and final and there is no secondary question about it .
They said there is need to talk about illegal occupation of Indian territory by Pakistan which is known as PoK .
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of president Anil Paba.
Speaking on the occasion Paba termed the visit as a “futile exercise” aimed at “furthering” the agenda of separatists.
He said the interlocutors were “confused and bewildered” who added to the prevailing confusion after their visit.
Criticizing the statement of one of the interlocutors regarding the involvement of Pakistan in the solution to the Kashmir problem , he said that it has added fuel in the anger of social groups and migrants living in Jammu .
Speakers said the interlocutors had created controversies by using words like “disputed” for Kashmir and by entertaining the proposals for “azadi” mooted by certain quarters and asking for framing a blueprint for the same.
He said as interlocutors they were supposed to obtain viewpoints of different sections and report the same to the Central Government without propagating to the public their personal views and opinions on the subject.
He said they had to understand that they were not negotiators or middlemen, but interlocutors assigned the job to study, question and report their findings for a possible solution to the Union government.
He demanded that role of interlocutors be investigated as people of Jammu has doubt on there role.
