Plus 2 lecturers flay arrears roadmap

Jammu, Oct 31: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum has condemned the ‘roadmap’ framed by the Government for payment of arrears of Sixth Pay Commission to the employees in the State.
The state president of the Forum, H D Qureshi while addressing a district level educational conference at Bani in Kathua district criticized the Government for a “cruel joke” with the working classes in the State.
About 150 delegates drawn from various Institutions of the district participated in the conference and took part in the deliberations discussing each and every aspects of Education in 21st Century with special focus on the challenges in the field of Education and the decreasing graph of Quality in the standards of Education.
The speakers discussed at length overall scenario in Education with special focus on the confronting areas that are in the way of smooth functioning particularly in the far-flung and rural areas.
Qureshi elaborated the specific role of Plus 2 component of education and its efforts in the development of Education in the State. He said that there is need of immediate review of existing system of Education and the centuries old pattern to meet the challenges of education both at national and global level.
He also demanded that areas of School Education be handed over completely to the educationists of school education and all non-concerned officers be sent back to their respective departments.
Qureshi also informed the conference that with opening of Civil Secretariat at Jammu, the efforts are being intensified for immediate regularization of all the Incharge incumbents, benefit of running pattern, placement of cadre in Pay band number 3 and re-organization of the department.
The day-long educational conference was first of its kind in a far-flung and remote area which was presided over by Ashok Kumar Khajuria, Principal Higher Sec School Bani and Santosh Kumari Principal Higher Secondary School Loang was the guest of honour.
