| JKAACL releases cassette ‘Lal Meani Nazri’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 31: Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages (JKAACL) in collaboration with Nagrai Literary Forum (NLF) Jammu on Sunday organised a cassette release function of Bimla Raina and held an interaction with the author at K L Sehgal Hall, Cultural Academy Complex, here.
On the occasion, Prof P N Trishal a well known writer and scholar of repute presided over while Sham Koul, noted journalist of the state and Dr K L Chowdhary renowned Physician and writer were the guests of honor.
Besides, Savita Bakshi Additional Secretary, JKAACL, who in her address, said, “The aim of the Academy is to promote and disseminate the art and culture of Jammu and Kashmir besides also patronize the art and artists as well.”
She congratulated to the Bimla Raina, the author of the book in which she re-interpretation the ‘Vakh’ of Lal Ded the great saint poet of her time in the Kashmir sufi tradition. She also quoted the contribution of Habba Khatoon, Arnimal, Majhboor and other great saint poets.
Bimla Raina’s cassette namely “Lal Meani Nazri” was released. The author recited the verses of Lal Ded who was the great mystic poet of 14th centaury. Besides, a thought provoking discussion was also held while in question-answer session the yogic kriyas of Lal Ded was discussed thoroughly which enlightened the audience.
Earlier, P Z Sudeshi, president of Nagra literary forum welcomed the guests. P.N Pandita conducted the proceedings of the programme very ably and efficiently.
