Council starts preparations for kabaddi nationals | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, October 31: Partner in the mega event of 22nd Sub-junior national kabaddi championships, the State Sports Council has started preparations on ground by getting the first playing field ready at MA Stadium, here today. As many as six fields are to be prepared to create basic infrastructure required for the four-day championships in both boys and girls sections. “The Council ground staff has started preparing the fields. We need at least six such fields to conduct matches simultaneously so as to complete a fixture of 127 matches on league-cum-knock out basis,” general secretary of the host, J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association, Kuldeep Gupta told SAN. However, the organizers have decided to conduct both opening and finals matches on mats. “Since State Sports Council is in the process of procuring the kabaddi mats, we have decided to hold opening match and the finals on mats,” he informed.
