Lecture on central policies organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, Oct 31: BJP Intellectual Cell organised Premnath Dogra Memorial lecture on the policies of the union government are creating confusion on the issue of accession of J&K State with India. The programme started with honouring of veteran party leaders Amarnath Gupta, Atma Ram Sharma, Shambhu Nath Sharma, and Dewan Chand Dogra. Sahitya Academy award winner and famous Dogri poet Tara Smailpuri was also felicitated. Presenting the subject, State Convenor of the Intellectual Cell, Chander Mohan Sharma, said that since 1947 a political tug of war is being played in the state. The nationalists forces are struggling for integration of the State by abrogation of Article 370 on one hand and the separatists and pro-Pakistan elements are dragging towards Pakistan on the other hand. Numrous sacrifices have been made by the patriotic forces in the State while fighting against separatists and anti-national forces. He also paid tributes to Premnath Dogra, Maharaja Hari Singh and Lala Hans Raj. Prof. Om Prakash Kohli, Incharge ( Prabhari) J&K BJP, in his address, presented analysis on the policies laid down by Nehru which were still being pursued by the Congress leaders, adding, these policies, instead of bringing peace and normalcy, have aggravated the situation to the extent that there is no government in valley and there is no difference between the statements of CM and separatistsss. BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, in his speech, said that the issue of Kashmir is outcome of two-Nation Theory, which was rejected by the leadership of the country. India, after 1947, opted to be a secular State, which was not liked by some fundamentalist elements and they are behind this mischief and are being supported by Pakistan Leader of BJP Legislators Party Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, while supporting the subject, quoted the incidents and historical facts to establish that series of follies on the part of Congress-led successive governments at the centre has led to the situation where 1/3rd of the land of the State is under the illegal occupation of Pakistan, people of the valley are resorting to stone pelting and those in Jammu are crying for justice, while the people of Ladakh are striving hard to get rid off the misrule of Kashmiris and creation of Union Territory. BJP leader Ghulam Ali Azad and senior journalist Yash Bhasin also spoke on the occasion.
