Jackson group performs Punjabi folk dance

JAMMU, Nov 1: On the second day of its two days drama festival by Balraj Sahni Punjabi Rangmanch, Jackson group performed Punjabi folk dance . J.R Sharma (Jackson) choreographed the dance. The performance was quite impressive. All the dancers performed well. A play Kandiyali Taar written by Kirpal Singh Kasali was also staged. The theme of the play coincided with the modern feeling of people living across the border.
The story revolved around two soldiers guarding their respective borders on their sides. Due to melodious songs of the soil they are attracted to each other and become friends.
During the course of talks, they came to know much more about each other. Prem Singh, the Indian soldier, whose family shifted from Lahore in 1947 got settled in Gurdaspur in the same house which was vacated by the family of Mushtaq ,the soldier of Pakistani Army.
Feeling of the residents of the same house brings them more close and they started exchanging gifts as token of love. Mushtaq disclosed to Prem Singh that his father has buried a big amount of gold coins in the corner of house at Gurdaspur. Prem decided to return the coins to Mushtaq but both caught red handed by their own colleagues while exchanging the things.
They are considered smugglers and are shot dead on the border, Kadeyalli Tarr.
Mohd. Javed, Dharmveer Choudhary, Shamsher Chohalvi, Neeraj Sethi, Vivek Sharma, Jan Mohd. Janu, Som Nath Azad, Virender Kumar were the main participants.
Sunil gave the music, Kamal Sharma did the make-up.
