Gen N C Vij road be renamed as 'Kargil Martyrs Road' : Randhir | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 1: The Nationalist Congress Party State President and former minister for Information, Tourism and Ladakh Affairs Thakur Randhir Singh has demanded filing of criminal case and taking stringent action against the promoters of Adarsh housing Society at Kolaba in Mumbai who have committed fraud in the name of Kargil martyrs. In a statement issued here today Singh said that all the retired as well as serving defence officers, politicians , bureaucrats who were involved in getting the land allotted in the name of Kargil martyrs but constructed 31 storey high rise building violating all norms and distributed the flats among themselves must be brought to book. He expressed concern over the permission granted to construct 100 meter tall building inspite of the objections raised by the Indian Navy as the building is situated just on the sea bank. Randhir appealed to the President of India , Prime Minister and the Defence Minister to make it a test case so that action is taken against the culprits and no one may dare in future to garner personal benefits in the name of gallant martyrs who made the supreme sacrifices of their lives in maintaining the territorial integrity of the country while fighting with the enemy in Kargil heights. "No one should be allowed to tarnish the image of Indian Army," he said . Randhir demands stringent action against the promoters and politicians who changed laws of Adarsh Building society and urged that the building be demolished and a suitable memorial in the honour of Kargil martrys like Balidan stamb in Jammu should be erected. |
