DSW, JU organizes debate competition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 1: Department of Students Welfare (DSW), University of Jammu today organised an Inter Collegiate/Departmental Debating Competition on Population Education at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium on the campus. The topic of the Debate was "In the Opinion of the House: "Population Education is a pre -requisite for Nation's growth and development". The participants spoke FOR and AGAINST the motion on the given topic. Zain-ul-Abdeen Banday from the Department of Political Science, University of Jammu clinched the First Prize whereas Indu Bagal from the Department of Physics & Electronics, University of Jammu and Rakshit Sharma from GGM Science College (Morning) bagged the Second and Third prize, respectively in the competition The appreciation prizes were awarded to Prayati Sharma from Govt Women College, Gandhi Nagar and Nandita Pathania from JK College of Education. Prof N.K. Tripathi, Dean Students Welfare, distributed the prizes among the winners. Jagdish Chander, Dr Sucheta Pathania and Dr Vishva Raksha, were the adjudicators in the competition. The proceedings were conducted by Gagandeep Sharma, Secretary, Students Cultural Council, Mussarat Chowdhary, Departmental Cultural Secretary, Department of Economics and Gourav Sharma. The twenty five teams from University of Jammu and various affiliated Colleges participated in the debate competition. Among others Prof Jasbir Singh, Co-Chairperson, Campus Cultural Council, Vinay Thusoo, Public Relations Officer and Teacher Incharges from the various affiliated College were present on this occasion. |
