| Seminar on abuses drug of addiction held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Nov 1: A seminar on "Abuses of Drug Addiction" was organized by NSS unit of Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Kathua.
The function was held as a part of series of initiatives by NSS against the social evils. On the occasion the MLA Charanjeet Singh Jasrotia was the chief guest while the function was presided over by Santosh Kohli, principal of the school.
The NSS volunteers participated in the programme to aware the audiences regarding the abuses of drug addiction.
They emphasized that drug addiction has become a problem in the society and is claiming the lives of people and warned that this evil is deteriorating the very basis of social life and is decaying the very existence of our youth resources.
While welcoming the chief guest and the participants of the seminar principal Santosh Kohli said that there is a dire need to inculcate the spirit of volunteerism to create a strong commitment against this evil.
The youth is luring towards easy ways of gaining momentary relaxation from the worries of life. The chief guest while expressing his views on the topic stressed that the best way to fight such social evils is to uplift our consciousness and raise our character so that we can fight these malady. |
