| Sainik School Nagrota's annual athletic meet begins | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 1: The 34th Annual Athletic Meet of Sainik School Nagrota got off to a colourful start at the school Mini Stadium. An impressive March Past by the four Houses namely Chenab, Jhelum, Sindh and Trikuta was led by the School Captain Cadet Pranay Bharti who administered oath to the athletes soon after the lighting of the Athletic torch by the Sports
Captain Cadet Wasif Majid.
The four day long Athletic Meet was formally declared 'open' by Group Captain Ajay Kumar, Principal of the school.
In this Annual Sports Meet, top athletics like Cadet Suresh Kumar, Cadet Anil Sharma, Cadet Umair Noor, Cadet Arun Kumar and Cadet Khagendra Kumar will complete in various track and field events.
Shortly after the meet was declared open Cadet Umair Noor clinched gold medal in 110 meter Hurdles while Pranay Bharti finished second.
Cadet Anil Sharma gave Jhelum Senior their second gold medal with an emphatic win in 200 meter run. Cadet Suresh Kumar opened the account for Sindhians with an easy gold in 400 meter run. Among juniors, Cadet Khagendra won gold in 3000 meter run while Sumit Kumar of Chenab Junior won the silver medal.
The Athletic Meet will continue for the next three days alongside the Jammu Sahodhaya School Complex Athletic Meet which gets under way from tomorrow.
