| Over 51 traders booked in Oct month | | | early times report
JAMMU, Nov 1: On the directions of Controller Legal Metrology, Pardeep Gupta, a team of officers of Legal Metrology under the supervision of Asstt Controller, Jammu, Manoj Prabhakar, conducted an extensive checking of traders in Jammu city, Talab Tillo and Akhnoor area during the month of October. More than 253 traders dealing with Kiryana shop, Sweets shops, Fruit sellers, Candle industry, Jewelers, Provisional store, Ice-cream factory, Atta chakki and Ration dealers were checked and 51 were booked for violation of different provisions of the Weights and Measures Act and PCR-1977 by Inspectors Ajay Verma and Pooja. The department has warned the traders to desist from the practice of cheating Consumers and they must ensure that the Standard packs fulfilling all the mandatory declarations are sold to the consumers on duly verified and stamped Weighing instruments. |
