| MHAC School Nagbani celebrates Annual Athletic Meet | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu. Nov 2: MHAC School Nagbani today celebrated its Sports Day with great fanfare and enthusiasm which brought forward the participation of the entire school.
The chief guest for the opening ceremony was Capt Dewan Singh, manager LMC who was accorded a warm welcome by the principal of the school Yogesh Khosla.
The ceremony commenced with the assembly of the athletes followed by march past and the recitation of the mantras which resounded in the whole environs of the school.
The sports torch was lighted by the chief guest who then declared the sports meet open and hoisted the sports flag.
The torch bearers Vishal Singh, Vikas Singh (best boy athlete in senior category 2009), Rohini Bharti and Anamika (best girl athelete 2009) carried the sports torch in turns to light up the school flame signifying the true sportsman spirit with which the events would be completed.
Thereafter prizes were given away to the students who excelled in various co-curricular activities viz photography, solo singing, flower arrangement viz photography, solo singing, flower arrangement, yoga, salad competition, rangoli, debate, declamation, quiz etc.
Vikas Singh was declared the best boy athlete of the day in the senior category and Rohini Bharti best girl athlete in the senior category.
In the pre senior category Suvidha Sareen was declared the best athlete and Rakesh Singh was declared the best boy athelete.
Various track and field events were conducted on the occasion.
The real thrillers of the day were skipping and lemon and spoon race by tiny tots and 4x200 mts relay race by both senior girls and boys.
A race for parents (men and women) was conducted which enthralled the audience.
The sports trophy was bagged by Amar House.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Brig Thomas George, Deputy Director General, Directorate of NCC J&K.
He was a given warm welcome by Capt Dewan Singh and principal Yogesh Khosla. In his address the chief guest congratulated the students for their achievements and the importance of sports in today’s highlighted stressful life.
The chief guest gave away the prizes to the tiny tots in various fields like clay modelling, flower arrangement, recitation, card making, solo singing, painting etc.
The chief guest declared the meet closed with the lowering of the flag followed by Shanti Path & National Anthem.
