CAPD squad inspects 250 shops in Rajouri, books 30 defaulters

RAJOURI, Nov 2: In view of ensuing Diwali festival and to check the menace of black marketing of items under Public Distribution System (PDS) and overcharging by traders, a team of Consumer Affairs & Public Distribtion (CA&PD), under the supervision of Assistant Director CA&PD, conducted a surprise visit of various markets of Rajouri town including Gujjar Mandi, Rajouri Chowk and Bus Stand.
During the raid, more than 250 business establishments including fruit and vegetable sellers, halwais, tea stalls, milk shops etc were inspected and 25 defaulters were booked. The team recovered a fine of Rs 6500 for violating PDS control order. Meanwhile, the squad also booked 5 shopkeepers for using domestic LPG cylinder for commercial purpose.
