JU organises lecture on Orthopedics problems | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 2: The Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu on Tuesday organised a special lecture on the topic ‘Preventable Orthopedic Problems’ at Brig. Rajinder Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. The lecture was delivered by Dr Lovi Padha, Professor Orthopedics and by Dr Rohit Bhatia. In his address to University fraternity, Dr. Lovi Padha talked about the myths and facts about Orthopedics problems. He further deliberated on the increased risk of fractures, various injuries, Osteoporosis and Arthritis. He further elaborated that exercising everyday can help prevent the above complication and provide a lot of relief in some chronic conditions such as Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis. “Regular work out can also prevent bone loss and allow you to maintained muscle strength coordination and balance, which in turn help to prevent falls and related fractures. With the help of Power Presentation he explained to the audience various correct postures which can help to prevent orthopedic problems,” he said. Dr. Rohit Bhatia also dwelt in detail about wrong posturing and thereafter the role of Physiotherapy. He said the role of Physiotherapy is concerned with identifying and maximize quality of life and movement potential with in the spheres of promotion prevention treatment/intervention, habilitation and rehabilitation. The lecture was followed by question-answer session. The function closed with the felicitation of the guests. The welcomed address was delivered by Vijay Atri.
