JAMMU, Nov 2: In a bid to strengthen the police force, the Police department has mooted an idea to rope in Ex-servicemen into the organization.
According to sources, a recruitment rally exclusively for ex-servicemen would be organised in District Police Line, Jammu on November 4. The recruitment rally would start at 10 am
It is for the first time that such a rally is being held wherein only ex-servicemen would be invited to take part, sources said adding that earlier it used to be for all candidates.
As many as 300 retired army personnel would be inducted into police force as
Special Police Officers (SPOs) after going through physical test and other formalities.
The successful aspirants would be sent for training and after completing it the new recruits would be posted at various police stations.
Sources said that the induction of ex-servicemen in Jammu Kashmir police would help in overcoming the shortage of manpower.
Moreover their recruitment to police is an added advantage as they are well versed to handle arms and ammunition beside other minute tricks of the trade.
