| Woman among 2 killed in road mishaps | | | JAMMU: Two persons, including a woman, were killed in different road accidents here today. Police said a motorcyclist was killed and his pillion rider wounded critically when their two-wheeler was hit by an army vehicle at Greater Kailash late this evening. The dead was identified as Vikran Singh, son of Shiv Karan Singh of Ratnuchak and the injured as his neighbour Shakti Singh, who was hospitalised. Meanwhile, a woman, who was sitting on the pillion seat of a motorcycle, was killed after the two-wheeler fell into a roadside pit at Barwal in Kathua. She was identified as Vaishnodevi, wife of Des Raj of Barwal. Police said she was sitting on the pillion seat of his relative's motorcycle when the tragedy struck.
The motorcyclist, however, escaped with minor bruises. Cases in this connection stand registered at the concerned police stations.
