11/3/2010 10:14:07 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 3: In order to neutralise hate campaign spearheaded by Jammu based political parties especially Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) against the misrule of Omar Abdullah-led coalition government in the state, National Conference leaders have decided to spread mass awareness highlighting achievements of Omar Abdullah government.
A meeting of the senior party leaders in this regard was chaired by Provincial president of the party Rattan Lal Gupta. Meeting was also attended by political advisor to Chief Minister Devinder Singh Rana and MLC Ajay Sadhotra. During the meeting, clear cut instructions were passed on to party cadre and grassroot workers to spread mass awareness highlighting achievements of Omar Abdullah government.
During the meeting, senior party leaders are also learnt to have reviewed working of government and its relationship with alliance partner. NC leaders had taken note of the recent statements made by senior Congress party leaders directing Omar Abdullah to read history before making noises on the issue of accession of state with the union of India.
It has been learnt Omar's absence from crucial round of meetings chaired by Home Minister has also not gone down well with state congress leaders. JKNPP leaders during the meeting also chalked out a programme to organise public meetings in Jammu and its adjoining areas after the opening of durbar move offices to fill the gap and launch damage control exercise to resurrect image of Chief Minister among commoners.
