| Legal literacy camp at Sanasar | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 3: Legal Literacy awareness camp was organized at Sanasar in Batote in District Ramban.
The camp was held under the chairmanship of Chairman District Legal Services Authority and Principal District and Sessions Judge Ramban Bala Jyoti. In the first Session, legal literacy camp was organized wherein participants focused on the legal education vis-à-vis legal rights. Main topics of discussion were Domestic Violence Act, drug abuse, Untouchability act, legal rights of women, rights of transgender community and legal rights of mentally retarded persons.
Programme was attended by Bar Presidents Ramban A.R. Mustaq, Advocate T.H.Malik, Advocate I.H Malik, Public Prosecutor G.H.Manhas, Police Officers and many other prominent persons including Panches and Sarpanches. People were also enlightened about benefits of scheme and concept of Lok Adalat under the scheme.
While addressing the gathering Principal District Judge Bala Jyoti asked people to come forward to avail the benefits under the Free Legal AID scheme. It may be noticed that many such Legal Awareness camps were also organized in Gandhar, Gool, Sangaldhan, Ramsoo, Banihal, Slum areas, Hospitals, Jails and Schools.
Entire programme was compared by Advocate T.H Malik and vote of thanks was presented by Advocate Tariq Malik. In the second session, a live question programme was organized wherein people from local area interacted with the chairperson
