Pradesh Youth Congress organises Diwali Milan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 3: In order to exchange ideas and thoughts among its activists, the Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) today organised a ‘Diwali Milan’ here today. The Milan started with the reading of a thought-provoking address delivered by R S Pathania, senior Vice-President, J&K PYC, reflecting upon the significance of the ‘Red Letter Day’. Attributing ‘Diwali’ as ‘Dilon Ka Milan’ and projecting Lord Rama as the ideal man and his consort Sita as the ideal woman, Pathania referred to various chapters of Ramayana and called upon the Youth Congress activists to emulate the subtle message contained in it. The philosophy of life and the doctrine of victory of virtue over evil contained in it, is innate and unique. He further underscored the need for celebrating festivals like Diwali, Eid, Christmas and Gurupurab jointly by the members of civil society and also by the Youth Congress. Shahnawaz Hussain, Secretary, Indian Youth Congress, felicitated the Youth Congress for taking such a path-breaking initiative, and particularly, when Kashmir is going through a very tough time. He also emphasized that religious amity and communal brotherhood is the basic requirement of the hour, and the message contained in philosophies of all religions. Bansi Lal and party, dressed in characteristic attires, mesmerized the virtual sea of people having assembled at the gathering by their Dogri songs and traditional dances. The Youth Congress activists also danced and rejoiced to the tune of folk songs and music played by these folk artists.
