| Cultural Academy, CWS JU organizes workshop on Gender Sensitize | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 3: J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Language in collaboration with Center for Women Studies (CWS), University of Jammu, organizes one day workshop on gender, culture and languages here today at KL Saigal Hall Abhinav Theatre.
On the occasion Pam Rajput Member, University Grants Commission National Consultative Committee on Women Studies was the chief guest while Prof Lalilt Magotra, President Dogri Sanstha, Prof Poonam Dhawan, Director Center for Women Studies University of Jammu shared the presidium.
Prof Poonam Dhawan in her address reveals the aim and objectives behind organizing this workshop.
She said that Academy is one of the prestigious literary and cultural institution and can play a vital role in order to achieve the objective through its publications, art and cultural activities as it has the great and direct impact among the masses.
Prof Lalit Magotra, said that India has a very glorious and ancient culture history which has a great dignity and honour for the women in socio-cultural set-up.
However, there is utmost need to change the mind set and attitude towards the women for the betterment and development of healthy nation and society as well.
Dr Bibhuti Ubbot also presents a thought provoking detailed research paper and also advocated about the social justice and equality for the women.
Earlier, Savita Bakshji, Additional Secretary, Divisional Office, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in her address said that no society can be completed and healthy without women and vice versa.
