| 3 held with 10 kg charas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATRA, Nov 03: A Kashmir-based narco smuggler was among three persons arrested by police along with 10 kg charas from Painthal Katkial here today.
Acting on a tip-off that Javed Ahmad, son of Gulam Hussain of Anantnag, Kashmir, was to hand over the contraband to his local contacts at Painthal Katkial, cops led by Katra police station SHO, Inspector Arun Jamwal laid a naka in the area in the morning.
Police sources said the cops apprehended Javed and his two local associates -- Roomal Singh, son of Suram Singh, and Abdul Rashid, son of Mohammad Shafi, both residents of Kundroian, Katra -- while they appeared on the scene along with the consignment.
A total of 10 kilograms of charas was seized from them, the sources added.
Police had registered a case against them under relevant sections of law.The operation was carried out by the cops under the supervision of SSP, Reasi, Anand Jain, and SP, Katra, Shiv Kumar Sharma.
