People in Valley indifferent to attacks on Geelani, Shabir

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 6: The people in Kashmir Valley are totally indifferent to the recent attacks on hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani In Union Capital, New Delhi and separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah at Jammu as majority of Kashmiris are not interested in showing sympathy towards the separatist leaders any more now.
The common man in Kashmir has no interest with the separatists now as he considers them his worst enemy who have put the masses into great trouble by taking them to ransom for last 22 years.
This is the reason that there was no public protest in Kashmir Valley against the hurling of shoe on Syed Ali Shah Geelani by the displaced Kashmiri in Union Capital recently as majority of the Kashmiris now feel that the separatists were responsible for the pain and agony of Pandits who are the inseparable part of the Kashmir and are leading an exiled life for over 21 years in different parts of the country.
According to sources now the people in Kashmir feel the separation of the minority Pandit brethren and they also realize the futility of violence and gun culture. They are of the view that 22 years of violence took them to now where but only added to the agonies and hardships of Kashmiris, sources added.
Sources said this is the reason that the people in Valley did not over react to the attack on Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani and another separatist leader Shabir Ahmed Shah in Delhi and Jammu. The Kashmiris consider separatists their worst enemies who have been responsible for the killing of thousands of innocent people and bringing a bad name to Kashmir and its glory.
The situation has changed to such an extent in Valley nowadays that people are not interested in reacting against such incidents. This changing attitude of the masses in Valley is a positive sign regarding restoration of normalcy there, sources said.
The separatists have now been totally exposed before the masses in Valley as they have misled the public opinion over the years, said a senior leader of BJP from the Valley.
``How far they can befool masses, he asked’’? The people have now seen through their game plan and no body is going to rely on them any more now. The Kashmiris want peace and prosperity and not the violence and destruction, he added.
The people would have openly come against the separatists but due to the threat perception which looms large they hesitate in openly revolting against them, he said adding once the Government assures full protection to the masses in Valley they will not loose a single moment in taking on the separatists and anti-national elements because people are now totally fed up with the 22 year long turmoil and gun culture.
It is not peoples support to separatists and the so called movement but only the fear psychosis that forces the masses in Kashmir Valley to respond and support the bandh call or civil curfew of the Hurriyat Conference, he said.
