20 kg charas seized at Katra in four days | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 06: Twenty kilograms of charas has been seized by police from five smugglers in Katra area in the past four days. A Kashmir-based smuggler and his two local associates were apprehended by police from near Katra Wednesday along with 10 kg charas. In continuation to the drive against narcotic smugglers, two Kashmir-based men were, however, arrested today from near the Shree Mata Vaishno Devi University at Kakriyal at Katra along with 10 kg charas, police sources said. The accused were identified as Bilal Ahmed, son of Mohammad Amin, and Feroz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Akbar Azam, both residents of Anantnag in Srinagar. Sources said the accused were to supply the consignment to a party for selling it among locals in the town.As selling and consuming of drugs, liquor and meat was prohibited in and around the holy Katra town, a check was being maintained by police on their sale and purchase, the sources added
