Nov 6, Jammu Minister for School Education Peerzada Mohammed Saeed has been trying hard to control the affairs of the Board of School Education (BOSE). In this regard, he recently passed an order to stop the operation of all the BOSE bank accounts with an immediate effect that too without specifying any reason.
It's been an open secret that the Minister dislikes the incumbent Chairman of BOSE, Prof Deshbandhu Gupta and trying his best to show him the door. Though officialy he won't be able to achieve his goal that's why trying to build pressure on Chairman from different moves so that he himself leave the office.
According to sources, on October 30 the Commissioner/ Secretary Naseema Lankar issued the order asking the Chief Accounts Officer of Board not to operate the accounts. And furnish a the details of transactions carried out in the last few days. Whereas, it's not been known to officials concerned as to why such an order had been desired by the Minister.
When contacted, Commissioner Naseema Lankar stated that the Minister had desired the same and it was not any ulterior motive. However, BOSE Chairman Prof Deshbandhu Gupta said he was only waiting for Government order regarding continuation or discontinuation of his tenure at the position.
Further sources disclosed that Peerzada Mohd Sayeed want incumbent chairman to go so that he could handover the charge of Chairman to his blue eyed Sheikh Bashir who is BOSE secretary and been recently given the extension of two years.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Chairman and the Minister had altercation over the issue of admissions in ETT Institutions.
