“Govt committed to develop sports infrastructure across state” | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 6: Minister for Medical, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports Mr. R. S. Chib along with Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla today laid foundation stone of Two Play Grounds at Channi Himmat and Sainik Colony here today. The proposed stadiums would be completed at an cumulative cost of Rs 1.6 crore and have all modern facilities, including provisions for indoor games. The Sainik Colony playground would be developed over 24 Kanal land with provision for an hall for indoor gamed, including, Table tennis, Judoo, besides a modern Gym for the players. The Ministers were apprised that the proposed Channi Himmat Play Ground/ Mini Stadium to be developed over 8 kanal land would also have VIP room, office, caretaker office, store, General Toilet, Ladies Toilet which and is estimated to cost Rs. 60 lakhs. Speaking on the occasion, Chib said that the proposed stadiums are part of the measures, the coalition government has taken to promote sports in the state. He hoped that the on their completion the twin stadiums on the outskirts of the Jammu city would cater to the needs of the people of these areas. He said that we are proud of the performance of the youngsters in recently concluded Common Wealth Games held at New Delhi.
