| INIFD students’ designed garments showcased | | ‘Lakme Fashion Week Winter 2010’ | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 6: Three students of Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) Jammu have brought laurels as their designed garments were showcased at the exclusive INIFD stall at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2010.
Three students are Avantika Kotwal, Harpreet Kour and Ritika Raina. The garments were showcased along with the likes of Manish Malhotra, Ritu Kumar, Neeta Lulla, Manish Arora, Malini Ramani, Satya Paul, Anita Dongre, Narendra Kumar, Anuj Sharma where the buyers, top international and national media, film stars and celebrities recognized and appreciated the designing caliber of budding INIFD designers.
This season Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2010 happened to see innovative modern silhouettes with a traditional ‘Tarka’, the INIFD rolled out some of the best creations by its 61 student designers from pan India at an exclusive stall at Lakme Fashion Week-blending tradition and modernism at Hotel Grand Hyatt Mumbai.
Vanita Thakur, Centre Director of INIFD Jammu said, “We are happy and proud to see the designer garment of our student at INIFD stall at Lakme Fashion Week. INIFD has given this prestigious Lakme Fashion Week platform to its students to portray pure timeless silhouettes. INIFD has set a novel bench mark by giving its student an opportunity to showcase their works in the same arena as the Lakme Fashion Week designers.”
She said that more than 1000 entries were received from all across India and out of which only 100 designer garments were selected by the panel of Designers’.
The INIFD student designer Avantika Kotwal said, “I am very thankful to INIFD for giving this opportunity to display my designer garment at the India’s biggest platform Lakme Fashion Week.”
Certificates were also awarded by Sahil to Parmesh, Pawan, Priya Jasrotia and Priya Mahajan who had assisted designer Gunjan and Shantanu Nikhil at the Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour held at the Taj in Mumbai. Well known face in the fashion world – Model Sahil Slathia visited INIFD Campus.
