50% work completed on Bhawan for Amarnath pilgrims | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar,Nov 6: More than half the construction work of the Yatra Bhawan being built for Amarnath pilgrims at Sonamarg in Jammu and Kashmir has been completed, officials said here. Construction of the Yatra Bhawan, estimated to cost Rs 3.28 crores, is going on and so far Rs 1.75 crore have been spent on it, Minister for Forests and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad, was told by the concerned officials during his visit to the site on Friday. The Bhawan will have 200 beds and several restaurants for the convenience of the Amarnath pilgrims and is expected to be completed before the beginning of next year's annual pilgrimage. The minister then proceeded to inspect the work on Sonamarg Club, which is being constructed at the cost of Rs 3.14 crore to attract tourists. Ahmad also inspected the construction works on the International Youth Hostel and Adventure Club, Tourist Reception Centre and a Park in Thajwas Wild Life Sanctuary being built at a combined cost of about Rs 10 crores.
