Cong leaders calls for uplifting poor

SUNDERBANI, Nov 5: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has asked members of civil society to come forward to extend their co-operation in the upliftment of poor, downtrodden and other deprived sections of the society.
In a handout issued here today, it has been said that General Secretary and Spokesperson of JKPCC Ravinder Sharma (MLC) celebrated Diwali with inmates of Bal Ashram Sunderbani and was joined by large number of senior citizens, serving and retired officials of Sunderbani. Sweets were distributed and crackers were burst on the occasion.
Later, he laid foundation of boundary wall and also released funds out of his Constituency Development Scheme (CDS) for ground leveling and other works for improving accommodation and creating proper environs for comfortable stay of inmates. He also arranged post-graduate computer teacher who offered his services on voluntary basis for students of the Ashram.
Addressing gathering of citizens, Sharma said that government support alone to these sections of the society would not be enough to achieve the objective. He thanked prominent citizens of area who came forward to extend all help for carrying forward the pious task jointly and offer their services especially for the inmates of the destitute home.
Sharma asked prominent members of the society including Sarpanches and those belonging to field of education to identify poor and needy children in the respective areas for extending them possible help for getting education to achieve goal of total literacy. Citizens appreciated the gesture and efforts of Sharma and extended full support.

Headmaster; Navneet Gupta and Ramesh Harnal.
