Skating club criticizes Govt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, November 06: Roller Athlete Skating Club Jindrah here in a meeting held today criticized the step motherly treatment with the Indian roller skaters, who have been denied funding by the Government of India for the 16th Asian Games to be held in China. In a handout issued here today, the chief patron of the Club, Joginder Kohli took serious note of the development and strongly criticized the Minister of Sports, Government of India for the harsh step. “Likewise other players, skaters too are representing the nation so why such a step motherly treatment,” expressing his concern he said. However, he wished that skaters would definitely bring good results in the upcoming Asians and prove their worth. It is pertinent to mention here that the Government of India, taking plea that roller skating is not an Olympic event denied the sponsorship to the contingent.
