| A day after his transfer, Executive Officer M.C Ganderbal loots 14 lakhs from state treasury | | | Srinagar, November 2: A day after his transfer, Incharge Executive Officer , Municipal Committee Ganderbal ordered disbursement of a whooping amount of Rs 14 lakhs from the state treasury against works most of which have not been executed on ground. This speaks volumes about his cash fleecing practices which have blocked all the developmental works in Ganderbal town.
Informed sources while disclosing this to KNS revealed that Director Local Bodies (Kashmir) vide order no: DULB /Estt / 86/9377-89;Dated:30-10-2006 ordered shifting of seven Executive Officers and Incharge Executive Officer Municipal Committee Ganderbal Bashir Ahmed Wani was shifted and posted Executive Officer Municipal Committee Pampore.
A day after the department issued his transfer order, the said Executive Officer ordered disbursement of Rs 3 lakhs to Sofi Enterprises against electrification of Ganderbal town, the work which has not been executed on ground, RS 2 lakhs to his son Arif Bashir who has been appointed works supervisor in violation of standing rules of the State Government in Municipal Committee Ganderbal, Rs 2 lakhs to a contractor on a/c of tools and plants and Rs 7 lakhs against works which have not been technically executed and administratively approved.
Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development Department, when asked for her comment, told KNS that she will call for a report from Director Local Bodies (Kashmir) and the matter will be investigated. Interestingly Ganderbal is the home constituency of Housing and Urban Development Minister Qazi Mohd Afzal. |
