J&K Bharat Scouts celebrates Flag Day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, NOVEMBER 07: Jammu and Kashmir Bharat Scouts and Guides Association celebrated “Flag Day or Foundation Day” at its state headquarters, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu today. About 250 scouts/guides and their leaders from more than 20 schools participated. Similar programmes were also held on this day at each district headquarters and unit level. Minister for Youth Services and Sports, Medical and Technical Education, R. S. Chib was the chief guest while Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla presided over the function. Sri Ram Memorial Award for the best scouts masters and best guide captains of the state were presented to the recipients of year 2010. Those honoured with the prestigious award are Shobha Rani, Guide Captain, ALT(G) of Government Boys HSS, Fancy Lily Jee, Guide Captain of District Ganderbal,. M. A. Tramboo, ALT(S) from district Srinagar and Gurcharan Singh Ghai, ALT(S) from Jammu. The medals of merit and thanks badges, to the well wishers of the movement, were also given away on this occasion. State Commissioner (S), I. D. Soni welcomed the chief guest and other participants. State Chief Commissioner, N. A. Khan highlighted the importance of the Flag Day. He elaborated on the objective of this noble movement in the state in bringing in the emotional and national integration through value oriented education and the steps being taken to popularize the activities and programme of the movement. Among others Raj Bharti, Chief Advisor, Prabha Jain, Jt. State Commissioner, M. M. Joshi, Ritesh Kapoor, Jatinder Sharma, State Treasurer, Sehaj Singh STC(S) and Usha Chuni SOC(G) were present on the occasion. State Commissioner (G), Nasreen khan presented vote of thanks.
