Firing over land dispute, one hurt | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 7: While he separated two brothers who clashed over a piece of land inside their house at Pratap Singh Pura, Laliana, in Bishnah, a man was today wounded critically after two bullets pierced his body. Police sources said over a land dispute, Ranjit Singh and Sukhdev Singh, sons of Dalip Singh, had heated exchanges inside their house at Pratap Singh Pura. When the duo manhandled each other, their cousin Satpal Singh, son of Makhan Singh, intervened and asked them to sort out the issue amicably. Sources said to avoid the possible clash between them, Satpal locked Ranjit in a room. However, in a fit of anger, Ranjit took his double barrel gun and allegedly fired at Satpal. While one bullet pierced Satpal's arm, the other hit him in the hip, the sources added. Satpal, who was admitted to the sub-district hospital, Bishnah, was later referred to the GMC hospital where his condition was stated to be out of danger. Police also reached the spot after some time of the incident. Sources said police had seized the gun from Ranjit's room. The two brothers were, however, absconding. Raids were being conducted to apprehend them, the sources added. |
