Slain HM commander's nephew detained under PSA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 7: The nephew of a slain Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander has been detained under public safety act (PSA) in Reasi for his militant links. Shabir Shah, son of Mohammad Hanief of Lar, Mahore, was apprehended by police from Lower Dubri in Mahore last month while he was planning to eliminate some people of the area. He is nephew of HM commander Mushtaq alias Irfan, who was killed by security forces in an encounter in Mahore area few months back. Police sources said Shabir was involved in providing foods, shelter and logistic support to HM militants active in and around Mahore. After Irfan's killing, he was in close contact with his uncle Ghulam Qadir, a militant sympathiser, and other HM militants, the sources added. Sources said he had also met top HM militant Mohammad Rafiq alias Basharat, son of Abdul Rehman Sheikh of Neoch, Mahore, in the forests. |
