CNE programme on stress related psychiatric disorders commences | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Udhampur, Nov 8: An eight days’ Continued Nursing Education (CNE) programme on ‘Management and Role of the Nurse in Stress Related Psychiatric Disorders’ in CI Ops was inaugurated today by Lt Gen Jasbir Singh, AVSM, VSM, Chief of Staff, Northern Command at the Conference Hall of Command Hospital (Northern Command), Udhampur (J&K). The CNE is being organized by the Command Hospital, (Northern Command) under the patronage of HQ Northern Command and its medical branch and is being attended by more than 50 members of Nursing Services and civil delegates from Northern Sector of India. Major Gen DS Pathania, Commandant of the Command Hospital, Udhampur, in his welcome address, brought to notice that stress related disorders are on the rise in the society. Both medical and non-medical fraternity should be aware of early changes in behavior in a person to prevent drastic complication of such disorders. Early diagnosis and management of stress related and other psychiatric disorders are the key for reducing psychiatric morbidity & mortality. The CNE will be marked by a number of sessions, guest presentations, and panel discussions. Eminent speakers include Brig (Retd) D Saldanha, Ex Consultant (Psychiatry), Armed Forces Medical Services, Dr. JR Thappa, HOD (Psychiatry), Dr. Rakesh Banal, Registrar and Dr. Manu Arora (Psychiatrist) from Psychiatric Diseases Hospital, Govt Medical College Jammu.
