Coalition fails to connect itself with people: Zulfikar
11/8/2010 10:24:27 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
DARHAL (RAJOURI) Nov 8: Lambasting National Conference led coalition regime for failing to fulfill its promises made with the people during the last assembly elections, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that this regime has failed to connect itself with the wishes and aspirations of the people.
“Cosmetic steps being taken by this regime has failed to minimize miseries of the common masses”, said senior PDP leader and MLA Darhal Choudhary Zulfikar, while addressing meeting of party workers here today.
He said that National Conference led coalition has lost its credibility as the ruling party has brazenly reneged on all promises made with the people. “Instead of fulfilling the commitments made with the people, this regime has been trying to hoodwink the masses by giving confusing statements”, he said.
Cautioning ruling elites against befooling the people any more, he remarked, “ gone are the days when National Conference used to befool the people by hallows slogans and false promises”. “The growing alienation among masses is a clear indication that this regime has exposed before the people” he observed and said that it has now become clear that the present coalition has failed in delivering what it had promised.
“People has started comparing three years tenure of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed with decade long mis-governance of National Conference”, he said and made it clear that National Conference had failed in carrying forward the process of political resolution initiated by the previous regime headed by Mufti Mohammed Sayeed.
Other senior leaders of Darhal assembly segment also addressed the meeting.
