EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 8: THE Jammu Private Schools and ETT Institutes Association (Progressive) today flayed the ignorant and casual attitude of state government towards the important field of school education.
The association members, in a press conferene, said that government was playing double standards while making directives to private schools and giving an unjustified exemption to the CBSE affiliated schools despite of having a territorial jurisdiction under Law.
Citing the recent example of Pooja holidays related warning published on November 5, association expressed concern over the Directorate School Education Jammu for exempting the CBSE schools in case of implementation of its directions despite of having a territorial jurisdiction under Law. Adding further it revealed that Festivals, summer or winter is same for all children of a particular place then what was the fun to differentiate the state Board & CBSE schools.
Association expressed its concern over the non seriousness of the state government particularly the concerned ministry for its negligent attitude while dealing with the question papers leakage scam of the recent past. It further said that no outcome surfaced from the long pending rather hushed up Jammu police investigations till date
They also criticized the dummy role of the civil society for ignoring such serious crimes within the system. Association stressed upon the Chief Minister for a fresh time-bound probe by some special investigation team (SIT) comprising of some reputed persons in order to expose the black sheep behind the menace.
Association termed the state government's recent labour Laws amendments as an attempt to wind-up the existing private school education sector sustaining already under the unviable conditions. It told that despite 95% private schools are not in a position to adopt the proposed minimum wages scheme and in that case only required financial assistance from the government will be the only way out. Association appealed the state government for a meaningful review exercise over the issue in view of the existing ground realities before its implementation. .
Association also appealed to the respectable managements of the private schools to immediately stop the illegally operated LPG using vans for transportation of the students in view of a total risk to the innocent lives.
