| National legal literacy camp at Poonch | | | Early Times Report
POONCH, Nov 9: National legal literacy day was celebrated here today under the chairmanship of Principal District Session Judge Poonch Brij Mohan Gupta with the assistance of CJM Poonch Rajesh Kumar Abrol and Munsif Mobile Magistrate Traffic Poonch Muzaffar Iqbal Khan.
In a handout issued here today, it has been stated that legal awareness function was organized in the premises of District Court complex Poonch to create awareness among the public. In the said programme, Chairman District Legal Service Authority Poonch Brij Mohan Gupta, Muzaffar Iqbal Khan , Poonch Bar President Sanjay Raina, Secretary Iftihkar Ahmed Bazmi, Mohinder Pyassa, Adv. Mohammed Zaman, Rajinder Singh and Nazir Ahmed made the public aware about salient features of the legal service Act and the various legal aid programme.
Participants were also informed about the cases where the public/people are entitled to free legal air and concept of the Lok Adalat was also discussed. Peoples were also stressed upon to get their cases resolved through Lok Adalat. S.S.P Poonch, members of Bar Association, legal aid staff, prosecution branch, District Information Officer Poonch, litigant public in general and respectable citizens of the area participated in the programme. Lok Adalat was also conducted in which three civil and 32 criminal cases were settled through meditation negotiation and conciliation.
