17 Municipal officials start getting computer training

RAJOURI, NOV 9: State government is going to initiate process of e-governance in all government offices of the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch.
The work on the project has been started from the basic democratic institution of local bodies in Rajouri district where National Informatics Centre commenced imparting Computer related training to the Municipality officials.
As per reports, at least 17 officials of four Municipal Committees in Rajouri district viz Nowshera, Thanamandi, Sunderbani and Rajouri have started crash course of fundamental computers at district headquarter Rajouri.
All these officials will be trained in basic computers so that they can implement e-governance in their offices. All the Municipal Committees have been directed to prepare data base in the Computer so that to link it with the Internet for public use.
People will get benefit with this because they had to make rounds of the Municipalities for even getting small copies of Date of Birth or Death certificates which now will be available on Internet and users can download it anywhere.
The trainers at NIC Rajouri are being trained by Computer Professionals under the supervision of District Informatics Officer Sanjeev Puri.
E-Governance is convenient and cost-effective for businesses, and the public benefits by getting easy access to the most current information available without having to spend time, energy and money to get it.
Experts said that it helps simplify processes and makes access to government information more easily accessible for public sector agencies and citizens. In addition to its simplicity, e-democracy services can reduce costs. The anticipated benefits of e-government include efficiency, improved services, better accessibility of public services, and more transparency and accountability
The National e-Governance Plan of Indian government seeks to lay the foundation and provide the impetus for long-term growth of e-Governance within the country. The plan seeks to create the right governance and institutional mechanisms, set up the core infrastructure policies and implements a number of Mission Mode Projects at the center, state and integrated service levels to create a citizen-centric and business-centric environment for governance.
