| Seminar on National Legal Services Day organised | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 9: A seminar on ‘National Legal Services Day’ was organized in the District Court Complex, Ramban under the chairmanship of Bala Jyoti District Legal Services Authority (Principal District and Sessions Judge) Ramban.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ramban Ajay Singh Jamwal was the guest of honour on the occasion.
All the speakers focused on the benefits of free Legal Aid services to the deserving litigants and particularly mentally disabled persons.
The Chairperson Bala Jyoti apprised the audience about the extension of free legal aid services to the persons belonging to transgender community and also mentally retarded persons. Jyoti also laid emphasis on the other socio legal problems and asked all those present on the said occasion to stop discriminatory attitude towards the persons belonging to aforesaid community.
In the seminar SP Ramban Mubassar Latiefi stressed about the implementation of this free laid aid schemes at the gross root level.
SSP Traffic Ramban Vijay Kumar focused on all legal laws viz-a-viz their implementation in letter and spirit.
Judicial Officers present on the occasion were also asked to be more sensitive while dealing with the victims of crimes.
Other prominent persons those spoke on the occasion were ACD Ramban Nazeer Ahmed, District Social Welfare Officer, Kusoom Lata Pandita, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ramban, Yehya Firdous Munsiff Ramban and A R Mushtaq Bar Association President Ramban.
More than one thousand people participated in the programme including litigants, Panches, Surpanches, Revenue Officers, Officers from the Administration, Rural Development Department, Prosecuting Officers and Judicial Officers,.
