Special Lok Adalat decides 1,564 cases

EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, November-09 (JNF):- On National Legal Service Day, a Special Lok Adalat was organised in the District Court complex, Janipur under the chairmanship of Principal District & Sessions Judge, who is also Chairman District Legal Service Authority. In this special Lok-Adalat, 8 benches were constituted in which 2,212 cases were taken up and 1,564 cases were decided on spot and more than Rs 1 crore was awarded as compensation.
The first bench, which comprising A.K. Shan, Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge, Jammu, Sanjeev Kumar Bhagat, Addl District Judge (Matrimonial Cases) and Keekar Singh Parihar, 1st Addl Distt. & Sessions Judge Jammu settled 32 cases and permanent alimony of Rs.15 lacs was awarded.
The second bench, which comprising Vinod Chatterji Koul, 2nd Addl Sessions Judge Jammu and Sanjay Parihar, Presiding Officer MACT Jammu settled 24 cases and compensation of Rs.54 lacs and 51 thousand awarded.
The third bench comprising by DC Sagotra, Addl. Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu and Kishore Kumar Bhagat, President Divisional Consumer Forum Jammu settled 15 cases and compensation of Rs.48 lacs and 88 thousand awarded.
The fourth bench consisting of Rajesh Sekhari Addl Distt Judge (Bank Cases) and Pawan Dev Kotwal, 3rd Addl. District Judge Jammu, this Bench settled 60 cases and amount of Rs. 2,46,03,159 was settled .
The fifth bench which consisted of M S Parihar, Chief Judicial Magistrate Jammu, Surinder Singh, City Judge Jammu and Sandeep Kour, Forest Magistrate Jammu. This Bench settled 116 cases and fine of Rs.64,200/ was imposed.
The sixth bench consisting of R N Wattal, Electricity Magistrate Jammu, M. R. Chak, Sub-Judge, Jammu and Anjum Ara, Munsiff Jammu, this Bench settled 79 cases and fine of Rs.1,20,700 was realized.
The seventh bench consisting of Khalil Choudhary, Spl. Judge Mobile Magistrate (T) Jammu and Noushad Ahmed Addl. Mobile Magistrate, Traffic, Jammu, this Bench took up 1100 challans under M.V. Act and decided 1086 challans, Fine of Rs.2, 30,100 was realized.
The eighth bench which consisted of S.S.Bali, Spl. Municipal Magistrate, Jammu and Renu Dogra, 3rd Addl. Munsiff Jammu, this Bench settled 152 cases and fine of Rs.51, 000 was realized.
