DoP to organize contests on Dec 12 | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Nov 9: In connection with World Philatelic Exhibition 2011, the Department of Post is organising competition on design a stamp contest and letter writing. The contests at circle/state level will be held at Jammu on December 12. The venue of the contests is Sri Guru Gobind Singh Public Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani. The contest will be for the schoolchildren in three categories. Category A (upto class V) subject of letter: "Save the tiger"- not more than 200 words ; Category B (Class VI to VIII) -Subject of letter: What steps you and your parents are taking to make your home more environment friendly" - not more than 300 words ; Category C (Class IX to XII) -Subject of letter: "What India can do to preserve the earth for future generations"not more than 500 words The three best entries in each category in the circle will be given a cash award of Rs. 5000/-,Rs.2500/-, and Rs. 1000/- respectively. The application should be addressed to Assistant Director Postal Services (Tech) 0/0 Chief Postmaster general J&K Circle, Meghdoot Bhawan, Dogra Chowk, Jammu. The last date of receipt of entry in this office is November 27. All the schools are requested to participate in the above mentioned competitions. The candidates will appear in the competitions at their own cost.
