Janta Diabetes Care Centre holds painting competition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 9: To create awareness about the disease of diabetes, Janta Diabetes Care Centre, Talab Tillo and Jammu Kashmir Fine Arts Society (JKFAS) organized 10th annual on spot Painting cum poster competition at Kamala Palace here today. The competition was organised in connection with the celebration of World Diabetics Day. As per the handout issued, 20 schools of Jammu participated in the event with more than 200 students participated in the competition and put their thoughts and concepts with the help of paint and brush on paper. Painting competition was held on various concepts put forward by Dr Raj Kumar Sharma including Know Your Disease and Live Longer, Fast Food Kills Fast, Optimum Calories Lesser the Diabetes and Insulin a Friend in Need. Dr Sharma discussed about various aspects in the management of the diseases besides added that certain precautions could help in management of diabetes and could prevent long term complications. He emphasized for the treatment of children with diabetes this year, number of whom was increasing with each passing day. Dr Sharma emphasized that by regular monitoring of blood sugar and consultation with doctor, long term complications like that of Heart, Kidneys, Brain, Eyes and legs which were cause of great morbidity and mortality could be checked. Paintings were judged by Jaqpal Singh, Sunder, Vijay Gupta and Sushil Dubey. |
